her story

TRACY JACOBS DESIGNS

My creative journey began in a small town in Southern Indiana, shaped by a family that encouraged art, imagination, and heart. My greatest inspiration? My grandpa, Robert Russelberg—a joyful, wildly talented sketch artist who showed me what it means to create beauty and live with passion.

DRIVEN BY PERSPECTIVE

In high school, I fell in love with jewelry-making—despite a memorable incident involving a blowtorch and a slightly singed sleeve! That spark never fully left.

Years passed, I raised a family, worked as a nurse, and kept creativity close. But everything changed after a mission trip to Haiti. There, in City Soleil, I met artists transforming trash into treasure. Their resilience reframed my understanding of art, sustainability, and purpose.

In 2023, I returned to jewelry-making with a deeper perspective and a passion for sourcing materials that are kind to the planet. That’s how Indie Nomad was born—a line of soulful, raw, and intentional pieces that tell stories and reflect a shared spirit of authenticity.

Curious how we source our jewelry? Learn more below.
